Promethean Rebellion
Summary of the Major Concepts of our Philosophy
Prometheus
Rebellious titan of Greek mythology who rebels against the established order of the tyrannical god of heaven and bestows upon Man the «Fire» of divine wisdom and all of the arts of civilization thereby liberating him from a previous condition of enslavement and obscurantism. Prometheus the enlightener is a symbol of rebellion against the darkness and the enslaving values of the dystopian social orders throughout the centuries and represents instead the elevation of Man, the freedom of the individual, the most sublime genius and the true advancement of the human species. His other mythological incarnations include the Sumerian god Enki and the mysterious Serpent of the famous Eden account of Genesis.
Promethean Principle
Instinct of vital expansion which characterizes all living beings. Fundamental driving principle of life itself and metaphysical basis of all sound and edifying values. This inborn impulse moves us to strive to perfect ourselves in a continuous manner and forge ourselves into a higher form of ourselves. It constitutes a strong desire for personal evolution and the pursuit of excellence which flows out of the soul. Its subsequent fruits are remarkable intellectual productivity, the exercise of the most sublime creative power and countless other godlike achievements. This same spirit of vitalism characterized the general ethos of the classical world as well as that of the Renaissance. It was then revived by Nietzsche in the form of his concept of the «will to power» in the modern age. We ourselves identify it with Prometheus himself who embodies it in all of its fullness. It is this powerful instinct that distinguishes the man of a higher aristocratic mind and possessor of the allegorical «Promethean Fire» from the lower types of servile and mediocre instincts. It may be contrasted with the mere «will to live» of the philosophy of Schopenhauer and the «pleasure principle» of Freudian psychoanalysis as a theory of the essential driving force of human behavior.
Ethical Aristocratism
Aretaic ethos aimed at the development of higher aristocratic traits. Our philosophy supports a positive valuation of all of the virtues which elevate the human being and lead to his upward aristocratic perfection such as strength, wisdom, bravery, beauty, creativity and self-love and disowns completely any lowly trait or false virtue that may serve to debase the individual such as excessive humility, meekness, servility and self-abnegation. This ethical vision may be considered the logical conclusion of our recognition of the «Promethean Principle» as the underlying impetus of all life.
Rebellion against Dystopia
We consider that the present state of civilization of this planet is none other than a dystopia of perverse and anti-aretegenic values which prove to be totally opposed to the noble Promethean spirit and only serve for the diminution and the enslavement of Man. This is regardless of the present prevailing ideology whether it be liberalism, socialism or fascism given that all of these are born out of the same «dystopian current». The zeitgeist of the modern world is characterized by crass economic materialism, the mindless worship of relentless industry, widespread mediocrity and the progressive dehumanization of humanity under the banner of «rationalism». This age is a rather dismal one despite its apparent «progress». Our philosophy intends to be a new «Promethean Rebellion» of the human spirit against the enslaving darkness of the present civilization and an innovative vision for the creation of a worthier world.
Eutopianism
Idea of transcending the destructive «dystopian current» of the present civilization which is characterized by fear, hostility, enslavement and rigid thought and establishing in its place a more constructive «Eutopian current» based on loftier Promethean values and marked by intelligent cooperation, true freedom and flexible innovation. We envision a «Eutopia» (eu- + tópos: «good place») as a more evolved state of civilization that is conducive to the enlightenment, wellbeing and evolution of its inhabitants, that is to say, a conceptual opposite of «dystopia» (dys- + tópos: «bad place»). The design of a Eutopian society must base itself on the scientific method and be feasible in accordance with the technological capabilities and the logistic constraints of its time. This is what distinguishes it from a dreamlike «utopia» (ou- + tópos: «no place»). We believe firmly in the possibility to build a more positive future. In this regard our philosophy is characterized by a higher idealism with relation to our collective destiny as a species.
Promethean Rebel
Man (or woman) of noble instincts who rebels against the dystopianism of the present civilization and affirms loftier Promethean values in this age. The Promethean Rebel is a true reflection of his mythological namesake. His antithesis is the «Slave Soul»—the typical modern man--who resigns himself fatalistically to the stultifying way of life of the dystopia in which he lives.
Neo-Aristocracies
Envisioned system of governance for our future Eutopian societies. Local governments made up of the most excellent citizens and the wisest philosophers of each community. Our philosophy considers that aristocracy in its true sense (aristokratíā: «rule of the best») constitutes the ideal political model and advocates a restoration of this system in the succeeding order. The membership of the neo-aristocracies will be based solely on spiritual superiority, nobility of character and personal virtues and exceptional individuals will be accepted into their hierarchies if they so desire. The neo-aristocrats of each community will manage simple localized economies, establish Promethean values conducive to aretegeny and the greatest human flourishing and coordinate the creation of a superior culture.
Aristocratism-RBE (Resource-Based Economy) Synthesis
We consider that the hegemonic capitalist system is the cause of many misfortunes of society with its shameless usury, its pursuit of profit above all else, its spirit of predatory competition and its tendency to condemn the greater part of the population to a life of morbid hyperactivity in its meaningless rat race for subsistence. Our intention is to transcend that dystopian system and introduce in its place our envisioned «resource-based economy» (RBE), an innovative post-capitalist economic arrangement, which is characterized by technological post-scarcity, community-based cooperation, common access and widespread automation and offers a considerably more Eutopian way of life.
Fundamental aspects of the proposal:
1. Full use of manufacturing technology in order to facilitate a condition of universal post-scarcity
Versus the artificial scarcity of the market system for the sake of profitability
2. Community-owned systems of production and direct supply of the needs of the whole community
Versus the domination of capital by private companies and the profit motive
3. Common access to resources, usufructuarianism and introduction of «public commons»
Versus commercialism and the irrational hoarding of resources
4. Deliberate automation of productive operations and minimization of human labor
Versus servitude for a wage and the creation of superfluous forms of employment
5. Obsolescence of artificial currencies in the wake of post-scarcity and post-commercialism
Versus a society controlled by fiat money
We conceive a unique synthesis between aristocratism as a philosophical ethos and a system of governance and a novel social order based on RBE principles as a possible basis for the founding of our desired «Promethean Eutopia». Our neo-aristocracies will be administrators of the community-owned systems of production of each community and the foremost authors of a new age of human civilization.
This aristocratism-RBE synthesis constitutes the hallmark and the greatest idiosyncrasy of our philosophical system.
Aristocratization of Humanity (Promethean Renaissance)
As a consequence of the deliberate automation of the bulk of productive operations by robotic means and the subsequent reduction of the workweek to an absolute minimum, everybody will enjoy a new way of life of greater leisure and freedom and an ever increasing number of people will dedicate themselves to various noble creative pursuits and forms of self-development. The servile values and the banausic mindset of the working class will be forgotten and a large part of society will become relatively more aristocratic with the universal entrenchment of our own loftier Promethean values. The expected outcome of this will be a magnificent flourishing of the arts and culture like never before.
Consciencialist Idealism
Metaphysical position which holds that consciousness itself, rather than matter, is the foundation of all existence. Known also as spiritualist monism. According to this cosmology, all material phenomena originate from a kind of «universal consciousness» or a single underlying substance of pure mind which precedes any form of matter and our physical reality constitutes in effect a vast virtual construct generated by that same prephysical mental entity and made up of an infinite number of its tiny incorporeal fragments. The universe is merely a materialized reflection of a transcendental absolute.
Matter is not the origin of the world but rather an ensuing product of probabilistic and open-ended data without physical form, hence the phenomenon of «wave function collapse» at the quantum level. At the bedrock of reality there only exist incorporeal pieces of information which then become the solid particles of the material realm upon being observed by a conscious observer. Our universe behaves like a sophisticated simulation created and sustained by some preexistent intelligence. What is the nature of this prephysical entity? Our interpretation supposes that consciousness is a fundamental property of the cosmos and that a great intelligent mind is behind the generation of reality.
Ontological assertion: Reality = Information = Consciousness-Mind
Our understanding of the cosmos and conscious existence presents various similarities with the metaphysics of the Advaita (non-dualist) Hindu tradition as well as with the monistic cosmology of the Hermetic philosophy and involves an organic synthesis between the simulation argument and spiritualist monism. Modern quantum physics and consciousness research merge with ancient mystical concepts.
Postmaterialism and Empirical Spirituality
From our point of view, there already exist sufficient lines of evidence to substantiate the authenticity of certain aspects of the paranormal and endorse a spiritual vision of life, among them the apparent non-locality of the mind, the survival of consciousness during the famous near-death experiences (NDEs) and even investigations concerning past-life memories in children. The truth is that there is no inherent contradiction between science and spirituality, particularly when we distance ourselves from the ideological assumptions of reductionist materialism and contemplate reality from the ontological perspective of consciencialist idealism. Religion of the future should be based primarily on the empirical findings of paranormal research and scientific theory as opposed to artificial theological dogmas. We envision a rise of simple creeds that emphasize the evolution of consciousness through physical experiences and esoteric practices such as Yoga and meditation without irrational notions such as «sin», «atonement», «hell» and «divine judgment».
Reincarnative Evolution
Our philosophy conceives physical existence as a medium of the evolution of consciousness. Our material universe exists as the digital simulation of a «universal consciousness» which creates and underlies all physical manifestations (viz. «consciencialist idealism»). Our souls or individuated units of consciousness also form part of that primordial quantum-mental substance and incarnate themselves again and again in dense physical dimensions in order to experience various adventures within the strict constraints of materiality and thereby develop in an upward manner their personal attributes and the overall quality of their being. This plane of existence with its tight parameters and its defined rules proves to be the most conducive to our consciencial development, hence the creation of physical worlds like our own. We theorize that evolution is infinite and that anthropic souls continue to refine themselves ascendingly throughout their incarnate lives until becoming great godlike beings (what we term «apotheosis»). We consider that this concept of reincarnative evolution constitutes the true metaphysical force behind our «Promethean Principle» or the «will to power».
Reenchantment of the World
Envisioned reversal of the so-called «disenchantment of the world» brought about by the prevalence of extreme rationalism and physicalist assumptions with regard to human life in recent centuries. Desired reencounter with spiritual values and a sense of transcendental purpose in this life as a result of postmaterialist science and a positive vision of spirituality based on the evolution of consciousness. Known also as the «re-spiritualization of man».

We consider that work in the sense of banausic and repetitious tasks and as it is understood in its modern context is nothing more than an oppressive burden, an obstacle to the true development of the individual, a disgraceful waste of human life and a necessary evil to be reduced to an absolute minimum. We reject as absurd any notion of its supposed «dignity». Our philosophy supports the deliberate automation of the bulk of the productive operations of civilization and the elimination of all non-productive and superfluous forms of employment and espouses a positive valuation of leisure and individual creativity.
Anti-Moralism
Prometheanism outright rejects the various «moralisms» of the religions and society along with their artificial notions of «good» and «evil» and their accusations of «immorality» against all nonconformists. Rather it is characterized by free-spiritedness and the intuition of the individual. Our ethical vision is simple: actions, beliefs and ideas that elevate the human being and encourage his vital expansion are valued as «good» whereas those that degrade him and obstruct his evolution are dismissed as «evil» or «unethical». In this vein, we expose as perverse many of the conceptions of «good» of established religious and social traditions due to their enslaving effects.
Nobility of Character
We cherish magnanimity as a major virtue. We encourage lofty souls to endeavor to be honorable and benevolent and avoid acting with malevolence or with pettiness or harming others with our deeds, words or thoughts. We seek to foster kindness and mutual respect among conscious beings and discourage any kind of hatred or discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, sexuality, et cetera. The motive of this is simple: if we act with honor and benevolence our actions will in turn have a positive effect in our daily lives and create ever more shared wellbeing in the communities to which we belong. This desired nobility of character is born out of an elevated level of consciousness and transcends by far conventional religious and social «moral precepts», many of which prove to be rather dubious and only serve to sow the seeds of fear, hatred, hostility and discrimination and thereby increase human misery. Our sincere magnanimity is infinitely above the countless contrived «moralities».
Higher Idealism
Throughout our philosophy there exists a strong desire to improve the condition of humanity and transform the present state into something more conducive to human flourishing. This idealist instinct characterizes the noble being and embodies the fundamental essence of any «Eutopian current». It contrasts directly with the standpoint of realism which implies a passive acceptance of the present landscape and an exclusive concern for basic survival. A spirit of higher idealism has been behind all of the positive changes that have taken place throughout history.
Art as a Source of Meaning in Life
Our vision of life, in the same vein as that of the classical civilizations, recognizes the special place which art occupies in life. It is precisely art in its broadest sense what truly ennobles the soul and allows this earthly existence to hold authentic value, particularly when higher aristocratic types are concerned. Painting, literature, philosophy, music, athletic pursuits and even scientific knowledge are our sources of inspiration which motivate us to continue to live in this harsh and often dark reality. Relentless industry, on the other hand, only oppresses the soul and leads to apathy and dejection. Any sound society must be designed for the elevation of art and the minimization of banausic work.
True Freedom (in opposition to False Freedom)
Prometheanism conceives true freedom as nothing less than the right of every individual to live as he wishes (with the only condition that he refrains from causing harm to others) and total independence from any system of coercion or servitude and distinguishes it from the various manifestations of false freedom which characterize the different ideologies of the present «dystopian current». The latter are nothing more than illusory imitations and attempt to pass off as «freedom» the right (or obligation) to choose our own puppet government every couple of years or to work in the market of the economic elites. However, any Promethean soul understands that true freedom has nothing to do at all with being allowed to choose from a handful of preselected candidates who represent the same established order or sell the greater part of our waking hours in the capitalist system in exchange for survival.
Community Spirit (in opposition to Liberal Pseudo-Individualism)
Our philosophy recognizes the importance of community in human life and holds that community cohesion is indispensable for the preservation of true individual freedom. This more discerning observation transcends the illusory dichotomy of individualism-collectivism of the cheap liberal philosophy of today. In reality so-called bourgeois «individualism» only serves to atomize all individuals of a community and force them to become the same unvarying economic automaton in the cold and meaningless rat race of the capitalist market for the benefit of the hegemonic class. The end result is a process of total assimilation into a single lifestyle of relentless industry impelled by a condition of systemic coercion. Only an arrangement of community-based cooperation such as our vision of a post-capitalist RBE system is able to facilitate true individuality (e.g., a group of villagers who only need to work about 10 hours a week in order to live thanks to their collective collaboration are considerably freer than a middle-class corporate employee who works more than 50 hours weekly in his «individualistic» society).
Futurological Thought (in opposition to Conventional Political Notions)
We have reached the conclusion that politics of the right-left variety only serve to limit the bandwidth of our thought with their hackneyed terms and their overly simplistic dialogues and that only the scientific method and the intelligent use of technology will be able to give rise to a more Eutopian state of civilization. It is futile for us to move from right to left given that we will only lose ourselves in a labyrinth of meaningless dalliances. It would be better if we moved only forward and attempted to design a more harmonious society based exclusively on the futurological possibilities of our century.
Active Anti-Violence (in opposition to Mindless Pacifism)
Prometheanism recognizes violent action as a legitimate recourse against tyranny and oppression and is opposed to any philosophy of mindless pacifism or passive non-violence. For that matter, it asserts that oppressed peoples should take up arms against their oppressors and fight for their own freedom and their own interests by way of just war. This active anti-violence is able to bring an end to violence and oppression quickly and thereby restore peace and justice. Passive non-violence, on the other hand, only serves to prolong violence and oppression against certain groups and keep them in the same condition of submission. A martial disposition is necessary for our survival and the protection of our freedom.
Anti-Egalitarianism
Our aretaic ethos has no room for any egalitarian conception of man. Even a perfunctory observation of the world will reveal that there exist significant differences between human beings with regard to physical and intellectual attributes. Some souls are more developed than others and that is inevitable in a reality in constant evolution. However, our honest recognition of the points of inequality between people does not necessarily imply a sense of contempt towards those who are less evolved. The noble soul will always possess enough magnanimity so as to respect the various stages of evolution despite his own superiority. Our philosophy rejects any notion of egalitarianism or relativism not only for being a dishonest falsehood but also because of its aristocidal effect which brings down the strong and the brilliant. Equality does not exist within nature. Excellence is unequal by definition.
Plurality of Worlds
We endorse the idea that there exists an infinite number of planetary systems which accommodate intelligent lifeforms that have followed their own distinct evolutionary courses and reached varying levels of biological, psychic and social evolution. We envision the presence of a cosmic anthropic genus which pervades many parts of the cosmos and is expressed in a great variety of human models. Our philosophy often inserts its topics of discussion into the wider context of this cosmic pluralism and thereby urges the reader to explore one or more alternative scenarios. It is fair to assume that the present situation of this world is by no means the only possibility and that many things will have unfolded differently in other evolving worlds within this vast probabilistic universe. This device serves to broaden the scope of our thought to a more cosmic level and encourage us to consider matters in a more holistic manner. Our vision of the plurality of worlds fits well with our ontological position of consciencialist idealism. All biological species and planetary environments throughout the cosmos could be considered probabilistic reflections of certain archetypal blueprints of the prephysical realm of pure consciousness materialized in the various nooks of this simulated physical reality.
Worldwide Auxiliary Language
We advocate the designing and the introduction of a worldwide auxiliary language as a perfected medium of communication that serves to connect all of the diverse peoples of the planet and facilitate a higher level of intellectual correspondence on an international scale. We envision that the new constructed language will establish itself as the de facto lingua franca of the various linguistic regions of our future Eutopian order and coexist with the current national languages in a situation of widespread bilingualism between the native language and the planetary language. People will no longer be separated by the Babeldom of speech. The worldwide auxiliary language will be designed with a euphonious phonology, a broad and precise lexicon, an optimal grammar and a great plasticity for the formation of new terms. It must be suitable to serve as the spoken and literary vehicle of a superior planetary intellectual culture. How will the new language be and what will be its basis? This matter is an object of discussion but we have suggested a modified form of one of the great classical languages such as Latin or Sanskrit. Our own proposal is called «Latinida» or «Latina Mundiale» and constitutes a restoration of Latin with various morphological and syntactic simplifications for modern use. We believe in the guided evolution of existing languages.

All biological species and planetary environments throughout the cosmos could be considered probabilistic reflections of certain archetypal blueprints of the prephysical realm of pure consciousness materialized in the various nooks of this simulated physical reality.
Worldwide Auxiliary Language
We advocate the designing and the introduction of a worldwide auxiliary language as a perfected medium of communication that serves to connect all of the diverse peoples of the planet and facilitate a higher level of intellectual correspondence on an international scale. We envision that the new constructed language will establish itself as the de facto lingua franca of the various linguistic regions of our future Eutopian order and coexist with the current national languages in a situation of widespread bilingualism between the native language and the planetary language. People will no longer be separated by the Babeldom of speech. The worldwide auxiliary language will be designed with a euphonious phonology, a broad and precise lexicon, an optimal grammar and a great plasticity for the formation of new terms. It must be suitable to serve as the spoken and literary vehicle of a superior planetary intellectual culture. How will the new language be and what will be its basis? This matter is an object of discussion but we have suggested a modified form of one of the great classical languages such as Latin or Sanskrit. Our own proposal is called «Latinida» or «Latina Mundiale» and constitutes a restoration of Latin with various morphological and syntactic simplifications for modern use. We believe in the guided evolution of existing languages.
